Spring

One of my favorite things about this time of year is receiving mail order plants.  Ordered months ago, I have often forgotten what I ordered.  The surprises are better than Christmas morning.  You'd think that since I picked all these "presents" that I would get exactly what I want, but there are always a few "why did I order that?" moments.  This week I received a shipment of tender salvias from California.  They were densely root ed pots with plenty of top growth.  In fact I took about 30 cuttings from the plants so I can multiply my bounty.  For the most part I don't know where these plants will end up in our gardens, but that is a big part of the fun.  I have a palette of plants sitting in the nursery ready when inspiration strikes.
